Brief Project Summary:

SIDROPod project operation within the Problem-based learning for students in the workplace programme (PUŠ)

Students Innovators for the Dynamic Revitalisation and Empowerment of Rural Areas (SIDROPod) is an operation funded within the PUŠ in the Workplace Programme 2024-2027, which enables students of the Faculty of Information Studies in Novo mesto and other higher education institutions to gain practical experience, knowledge and competences in real working environments already during their studies. The key objectives also include strengthening the cooperation between the higher education system and the working environment and the transfer of knowledge into the economy, non-economy sectors and non-profit organisations at local and regional level.

The project consists of the following projects:

  • Project “Digital Data Tool for Sustainable Business Optimisation (Digi-POP)” develops a modern digital solution to optimise data processes and improve the competitiveness of rural businesses in the municipality of Kočevje, with a focus on digitalisation and economic revitalisation of border rural areas.
  • Project “Lifelong Learning for a Digital and Green Countryside (Vse-UP)” promotes lifelong learning for the development of digital and green competences of working-age groups in the municipality of Ormož, contributing to the sustainable development and resilience of border rural communities.

Student participation in these projects enhances interdisciplinarity cooperation, creativity and employability, while supporting long-term connections between higher education institutions and workplaces and adapting educational programmes to the needs of the labour market.
